“Try-It-Out” Wheel Lessons / April 13, 2024 @ Fired Up! Asheville

Join us at Fired Up! Creative Lounge in downtown Asheville on Saturday, April 13th 2024 for our “Try-It-Out” Wheel Lessons!

Want to get your hands on some clay and give the pottery wheel a try? Looking for the perfect, one-of-a-kind souvenir for your trip or special occasion? Need a fun and unique date idea? Look no further! Our “Try-It” lessons are one-time, beginner friendly lessons where you get a hand’s on experience with a seasoned instructor! Our instructor will go over how to throw a basic pot, then help you make your own!

Lessons are priced $60 per person and include:

• Guided lesson for 1-2 people at a time
• The creation of a small pot (bowl/cup/vase) 
• All firings required (Bisque and Glaze)
• Second visit (1-2 wks later) to glaze your piece*

*If you are visiting and cannot return to glaze and pickup, our employees will glaze in the single color of your choosing. Shipping is $15 per address.

**Due to minimal capacity, we can only take on 1-2 people per time slot available. If you have 3-4 people, please add a second time slot to allow your entire group to take a lesson together. If you have a larger group, please call (828) 253-8181 to speak to one of our Studio Assistants. Most adults take an average 30 minutes to throw.**

$30 deposit will hold your time slot for your wheel lesson. **The total due is $60 per person, the balance due will be paid on the date of the lesson.** Price includes individual instruction and the creation of a small bowl or cup. Your piece must be bisque fired, and can then be painted with glaze during a separate visit to the studio (included in cost.) If you are not local we can paint your piece the glaze color of your choosing and ship your piece to you. (Shipping charges are $15 per address.)

Before Your Lesson:

• Please note, long nails and/or jewelry may affect your ability to throw. They can scrape into your clay or cause difficulty when using certain techniques.
• Clay is messy! While it will wash out of clothing, we recommend wearing clothes you’re comfortable getting dirty. Folks with long hair should tie it back to avoid it falling in your face or getting in the clay.

No-shows and cancellations made within 24 hours of the event will forfeit the deposit(s), cancellations made 48 hours in advance will receive store credit for the amount deposited. Cancellations made before the 48 hour time period may opt for a full cancellation, store credit, or may move to a new date (you may move your lesson only once.)
